Let them eat cake

I’ve lived in some attractive cities. Heck, I even attended San Diego State for awhile and it is consistently rated by Playboy as one of the top five party schools in the nation. It was pretty common to see the girls that grace the pages of the magazine roam the campus quad. So, how important is appearance in dating?
I’ll be honest, I’ve fallen victim to a prettyboy before. All he had to do was look in my direction and I was a puddle on the ground. But that’s only happened once in my life — we’ll call that the exception. I’ve had girlfriends try and break it down to a science. They rate boys on a 1-10 scale and swear the relationship only works if the couple is 2pts. plus or minus in either direction. For me, that’s absurdly technical. I’m a whole package kinda girl.
One of the times I fell the hardest for a boy, had little to do with appearance. I walked into a divey karaoke bar and he was up on stage rockin’ out to Elvis. He was completely into the moment and I couldn’t help but stare — I fell in love with his confidence and ability to utterly make a fool of himself on the spot. What I’m saying is appearance isn’t everything. There’s wardrobe, body language, voice, manners, and even social etiquette! But think of it as icing on the cake…however, I’m all about the cake.
