Emotional attachments

Filed under: confidence, know yourself by vivlai

There seems to be a standard in society that says girls form emotional attachments in relationships quicker than boys. Maybe that’s true but I’ll also defend the fact that I have an emotional attachment to places I’ve lived, people I meet, movies I see, songs I hear, and…bread. I’ve never seen this as a weakness because it’s that same instinct that helps mothers form emotional attachments to their babies. And what’s so wrong with that?!?

Emotional attachments also make people vulnerable. That just means I love harder, hug tighter and smile bigger through life. Sure, it also means I curse like sailor or throw a mean right hook every once in awhile. But there’s actually a hormone responsible for me being in love with the world: oxytocin. The hypothalamus emits this hormone during orgasm and during childbirth. It now comes in a bottle! But save yourself some money, go with option one.
